Dunn & Davison's Megan Banks Named 2010 Up & Comer

September 21, 2010 - The law firm of Dunn & Davison LLC, is excited to announce that Megan Banks has been named as one of this year's Up & Coming Lawyers by Missouri Lawyers Weekly.

Megan, an associate in Dunn & Davison's Kansas City, Mo., office, joined the firm a year ago after working at Sidley Austin LLP, in Chicago. Before that she clerked for the Honorable Duane Benton, in the US Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.

Megan specializes in transactional work and has special expertise in higher education transactions and regulatory consultation. In fact, in under two years she has been involved in over 20 merger and acquisition transitions, most from the higher education sector. Additionally, she works on business/corporate, mergers and acquisitions, banking transactions, employee benefits and ERISA matters.

Her favorite moment as a lawyer so far? According to her interview in Missouri Lawyers Weekly, "Definitely deal closings, because they are the ultimate reward for months of hard work, and at the completion of the deal process all parties involved are typically very satisfied."

The 2010 class faced stiff competition. Missouri Lawyers Weekly received hundreds of nominations. The 48 winners were selected by three former Up & Coming winners who based their decisions on a variety of factors including experience, achievements, outstanding recommendations as well as community service.

"Megan works very hard and is deserving of this honor" said Brian Dunn, the firm's managing partner. "But more than that, every day she makes valuable contributions to our firm and our clients really count on her advice and representation."

Dunn & Davison has celebrated two Up & Coming Lawyers awards in two short years with David LeFevre being selected in 2009. David now heads the firm's recently opened Houston, Tx., office.

Dunn & Davison attorneys provide practical, solutions-oriented guidance to clients in the areas of banking, business, commercial litigation, construction, employee benefits, ERISA, estate planning, higher education, mergers and acquisitions, tax planning, asset protection planning, arbitration and dispute resolution. Our focus is on integrity and experience in client service.
